Our NAACP Runway Debut
A Celebration of Black Excellence and Design
Los Angeles, CA: DIARRABLU presented its Spring 2026 collection at the 57th NAACP Image Awards Fashion Show and Awards Ceremony on February 28th, marking the brand’s first appearance on the NAACP runway and signaling a powerful moment for Black-owned fashion brands on a national stage.

Founded by Senegalese designer and mathematician Diarra Bousso, DIARRABLU exists at the intersection of mathematics, heritage, and design. The brand’s participation in the NAACP Fashion Show places its signature prints created at the intercom of artisans and algorithms within a broader cultural celebration of Black excellence, reinforcing the importance of supporting and amplifying Black founders in the global fashion industry.

This marked the Spring 2026 collection debut on February 28, offering attendees an exclusive first look at garments crafted between ateliers in Senegal and India. Produced through a made-to-order model that reduces waste while sustaining artisan communities, DIARRABLU’s work reflects a commitment not only to aesthetics, but to economic empowerment and responsible growth.
“As a Senegalese woman and founder, presenting at the NAACP feels deeply meaningful,” says Diarra Bousso. “DIARRABLU was built on the belief that creativity, culture, and intellect can coexist. Mathematics is a language. So is heritage. On this runway, they meet.”

The show arrives just ahead of Women’s History Month, underscoring the visibility of Black women founders building global brands rooted in purpose. DIARRABLU’s trajectory continues to accelerate: the brand has expanded internationally, launched in Dubai, and was recently selected as one of 18 designers for the prestigious 2026 RaiseFashion Masterclass, an intensive program supporting independent designers through mentorship, financial strategy, and long-term business development.
Guests also had the opportunity to shop the collection at the NAACP pop-up on February 27, extending the runway experience into direct community engagement.

Together, these milestones reflect DIARRABLU’s mission to merge art and math, celebrate sustainability and inclusivity, empower artisan collaboration, and build a resilient future for independent Black-owned fashion brands.
